Safety equipment and protective clothing are required for all shop/lab classes. Safety items include; safety glasses, gloves, sturdy work boots, sturdy long sleeve shirts and long pants, welding hood, welding jacket and welding gloves. If you do not have these items, talk to the class instructor as safety requirements will be strictly enforced. Any student who fails to meet these safety requirements will not be permitted to participate in the Shop/Lab and may be removed from class.

GEORG FISHER CERTIFICATION CLASS (Part of the Life Science Stackable Certification)
Mondays and Wednesdays from TBD from 5:00pm-8:00pm (4 Nights)
This class is composed of classroom & hands-on elements along with tests. The classroom elements cover topics including safety, material storage, prep for material and equipment, equipment operation, specifics of plastic jointing and inspection, and troubleshooting. The hands-on element covers machine set-up and operation along with prep, and fabrication of plastic joints.

*Summer* EPRI Industrial Rigging Certification (Journeyman ONLY)
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - (6/3- 6/5) (6/10-6/12) (6/17-6/19) 4pm-8pm (4 hours each)
Saturdays (6/14 and 6/21) 7am-3pm (8 hours each)
Test Date Tuesday (6/24) 4pm-8pm
10 Nights of class and 2 Saturdays (Total of 56 hours of training)Attendance is a fundamental requirement for completing the course. Any absence will result in inability to fulfill course requirements.
Upon successful completion of the written and practical exam students will be provided with a certification in theoretical and practical components that cover industry-recognized rigging practices, including calculating center of gravity, sling stress, crane setup, crane components, and signals. Also the use of tuggers, jacks, and rollers will be discussed, rigging skills will be evaluated by using written and hand-on performance exams. Students must perform a sequence of crane lifts using multiple types of rigging equipment. Industrial rigging and crane signaling training modules will be demonstrated and used. Personal protective equipment is required.

*Summer* Arc Welding Workshop (Open Shop)
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 06/03 – 07/31, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm

This is an open forum arc welding class. This class will be a great opportunity to practice welding pipe in multiple positions and possibly hone your skills well enough to pass a certification test.

*Summer* NITC Medical Gas Installer Certification (Part of the Life Science Stackable Certification)
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 06/03 – 07/24 from 4:00pm-7:00pm

This is a 36-hour class for Medical Gas Installer certification covered by the ASSE Series 6000 Standard within the scope of NFPA 99 2024, Health Care Facilities Code for the installation of medical gas and vacuum systems covered by the ASSE Series 6000 Standard. This class will prepare you to take the NITC 6010 test to become a qualified Medical Gas Installer. The following items will be covered in the class, a general knowledge of the applicable laws, codes, rules, listing agencies, and regulations from the federal, state, and local levels pertaining to medical gas and vacuum systems as well as knowledge of product performance, system and system component testing, documenting and recording, and medical gas terminology.

*Summer* Tradesman HVAC Course
Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 06/03-06/26, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm
This foundational course is designed to prepare students for entry into the HVAC apprenticeship program with a strong emphasis on safety, electrical basics, and refrigeration fundamentals. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification, a critical step for working with refrigerants in the HVAC industry. The students will also gain basic knowledge in the use of an electric multimeter for troubleshooting and understanding basic trade safety protocols

*Summer* Service Plumbing Fundamentals
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 05/27–6/26, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm
This course introduces students to the field of service plumbing, focusing on the key responsibilities, tools, and customer service skills that define the trade. Students will explore common service scenarios– such as fixture repairs, water heater diagnostics, and drain cleaning– while gaining hands-on experience and learning safe, professional work practices essential for success in real-world environments.
